My Story
Hi, I’m Matt Thierry.
I don’t wish to bore you with my life story so here is what I think is important.
I’m over 50 years old and have been “haunting” since I can remember.
My Skills Background
Since 1984 I have been a computer geek, starting off with a Commodore 64 and eventually having a 20-year IT career. Along the way, I obtained a college degree in Electronics and was a house rehabber starting in 1991. Below are samples of my work.
The “BIG” Haunt Project
In late 2009 I learned about HauntProject.com. I loved the creativity others were showcasing on the site. I had long been a builder of haunt projects and was happy to find I was not alone by far.
For many years I had wanted to build and operate a haunted house. At the end of 2009 (just shortly after discovering HauntProject.com) I met someone who wanted to do the same.
We set off with a plan and in October of 2010, we opened the 5000 square foot haunt known as Dimensions Of Darkness.
This haunt was operated for three years. Over the years we had a very small budget so we needed to be creative. HauntProject.com served to be a fantastic resource to help with our budget size.
In 2011 we were asked to be in the Midwest Haunt Convention’s bus tour. It was not our size or awesome commercially designed sets that got us there. It was to showcase a haunt that displayed what could be done with a small space and creativity.
We closed in 2012. Sometime later I found that HauntProject.com had been shut down. The operator of the site had passed away.
For some time I had monitored the domain name. In November of 2023, I bought the domain and began the process of rebuilding it.
